Lahore High Court Chief Justice Justice Aalia Neelum has directed former Pakistan cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan to submit his response to a show-cause notice issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Rizwan had approached the Lahore High Court challenging the NCCIA’s proceedings and summons in connection with an ongoing inquiry related to alleged online betting and gambling activities.

In his petition, Rizwan questioned the agency’s jurisdiction and the nature of the investigation. He maintained that the notice did not clearly specify any particular allegation against him.

Rizwan also stated that during his appearance before the agency, he was not informed about any specific online betting or gambling activity in which he was allegedly involved. He said he had sought details of the allegations but was not provided with a clear explanation.

The court has now directed Mohammad Rizwan to respond to the NCCIA’s show-cause notice.

The NCCIA had also issued a questionnaire to national team player Imam-ul-Haq and directed both players to submit their responses. Imam-ul-Haq has already submitted his response.

The inquiry against Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq was initiated after the two players returned to Pakistan from the national team’s tour of England.
