Islamabad: The Ministry of Planning has unveiled the official logo for the celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. On the occasion, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal stressed the need to follow Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and principles.
Ahsan Iqbal said that achieving the target of a $1 trillion economy by 2035 was possible. He stated that this year should not merely be a year of paying tribute but also a year of renewed commitment.
The federal minister said that national development was possible only through national unity, self-confidence and collective efforts. He questioned why Pakistan could not achieve development today when it had been established in just seven years with limited resources.
Ahsan Iqbal urged young people to play an active role in the country’s development. He said the best way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam was to follow his principles of faith, unity and discipline.
He said that while portraits of Quaid-e-Azam had been displayed in offices, there was now a need to adopt his teachings. The Pakistani nation must unite beyond divisions based on colour, race, language and regional differences.
Ahsan Iqbal said that fulfilling Quaid-e-Azam’s dream was possible only by giving national interests priority over personal interests. He added that Pakistan must be transformed into a dignified, sovereign and prosperous country.
